Who Am I

No Life Compares to Pure Imagination

I love stories. When I meet someone new, when I move somewhere new, when I experience something new, I want to know the story… What if there is no story, you ask? (Unlikely…) But I’ll do what I’ve been doing my whole life, I’ll create the story myself! Like Willy Wonka (my favorite movie), I believe there is no life to compare to pure imagination: in my case, imagining and creating and writing wonderful stories full of life, adventure, realism, passion, magic, and just enough heartache to keep an audience watching to the end…

My imagination has me creating a world of undead animatronic pirates coming to life, forcing three high school best friends to sword fight for their lives (Chasing the Carpe Diem) or reimagining a passionate love story between my favorite grandmother and the grandfather I never knew because he died seven years into their marriage (Right Here in Riceville) or, even, bringing to life Fallmarsh, a small town known for its famous descendants – there are Shakespeares and Hathaways and Bennetts and Bishops – and it’s Founder’s Day productions of Shakespeare’s Macb—oops! Don’t say the name or you’ll have to go outside, turn around three times and swear – the townspeople take seriously the curse and the responsibility of the magic candle handed down from William Shakespeare 400 years ago (Finding Shakespeare’s Candle).

Take a look at my “Plays” page to see what I’ve written and what I’m currently working on. Oh, and that’s me in the photo on “Dress Like a Pirate Day:” as Ching Shih, the famous pirate from my play Chasing the Carpe Diem, produced by Mount Markham High School in November of 2023.
